Amerijet recently leased its first 767-300BCF from Cargo Aircraft Management (CAM), the leasing arm of Air Transport Services Group, and now operates a fleet of seventeen 767Fs and six 757-200Fs.
The airline told Cargo Facts in July 2022 that it plans to increase its lease order with CAM for more 767 freighters after the carrier agreed to provide CMI service for three of Denmark-based Maersk’s production 767-300Fs.
Strauss, who was appointed chief executive of Amerijet in August 2020, brings more than thirty years of experience and leadership to the company. Prior to Amerijet, Strauss held leadership roles in global sales and operations at Air Canada, Hawaiian, Delta and Northwest Airlines.
Strauss began his career in aviation as a cargo handler with Emery Worldwide in 1987 and worked his way to vice president of transportation and logistics.
Cargo Facts Symposium, taking place live Oct. 25-27 at the Omni San Diego, is the essential event for stakeholders in the freighter and air cargo industry.
