Mario Fernandes is an experienced executive with over 30 years’ experience in the areas of finance and operations in large multinational corporations. He has experience in the aviation services, retail, logistics and foreign trade sectors. International work experience in Latin America, Africa and Europe, including leadership of global transformation projects. He is also highly experienced budget development, business forecasting, team management, and investor relations.  

Currently, Mr. Fernandes is the President and CFO and is head of Investor Relations at São Paulo-based Modern Transporte Aéreo de Carga S.A. (Modern Logistics). He is responsible for the firm’s finance and controlling; taxes; treasury; payables and receivables; investments; reporting; and fixed assets. Prior to joining Modern Logistics, Mr. Fernandes was the Director of Finance at Makro SA (SHV Group), a wholesaler for commercial clients. Previously, he was a finance executive at DHL Logistics and Wal Mart Brasil.  

Mr. Fernandes is an advisor and guest professor at universities in connection with their
MBA programs as well as corporate governance bodies. He also represents companies in professional associations and in government and regulatory agencies. Mr. Fernandes holds an MSc. In Business Administration from Mackenzie University and an MBA in Marketing from ESPM in São Paulo. Aside from his native Portuguese, he is fluent in English and Spanish.
