Mark Halsor

President
Aviation Asset Management

Mr. Halsor has over 38 years of operational aviation experience that began after graduating from the United States Air Force Academy in 1974. Mr. Halsor earned his MBA from the University of New Hampshire’s Whittemore Business School in 2000.

Prior to beginning his career as an appraiser, Mr. Halsor flew airliners for Delta Air Lines, Singapore Cargo Airlines and for Korean Air. His last posting was Boeing 747-400 Captain on both passenger and cargo aircraft. He has logged over 15,000 flying hours on almost all of Boeing’s airliners and on the USAF C-130.

In 2011, Mr. Halsor, with his business partner Dave Miller, purchased Aircraft Information Services, Inc., an aircraft appraisal firm that has roots dating back to 1980. As the President of the firm, he has overseen thousands of appraisals for commercial aircraft, as well as the engines equipped on commercial airliners.

In 2018, AISI merged with Aviation Asset Management Inc. (AAMI) to produce one of the top aviation appraisal firms in the United States. The addition of AAMI allows the combined firms to appraise any aircraft and aircraft engine (including helicopters). The combined firms also have deep knowledge and understanding of the aviation parts market.

Also in 2018, Mr. Halsor attained Accredited Senior Appraiser status from the American Society of Appraisers (ASA).

Mr. Halsor is a member of the International Society of Transport Aircraft Trading (ISTAT) and in May of 2021, attained Certified Senior Appraiser status in that organization.

In 2022, Mr. Halsor was elected to the International Society of Transport Aircraft Trading International Board of Governors and is a member of the ISTAT Exams Committee.

As one of only three Appraisers accredited as a Senior Appraiser in both ISTAT and in ASA, Mr. Halsor is regularly asked to appear on aviation appraiser panels, write aircraft valuation analyses for industry publications, and to provide expert witness testimony for both legal and for arbitration cases.
