Pilar Elvira Wolfsteller joined Cargo Facts in September as Editor. She is an accomplished journalist with a lifelong passion for aviation. She came to the company from the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, where she worked as a training and safety expert for AOPA’s Air Safety Institute, developing innovative video and text content as well as educational materials to help general aviation pilots make better decisions.
From 2019 until 2024 Pilar wrote for UK-based aviation publication group FlightGlobal / Flight International, where she covered commercial airlines, airframers, advanced technologies and training topics from across North and Latin America as well as Europe. In 2022, she was named Aerospace & Aviation reporter of the year at the Aerospace Media Awards in London.
Pilar began her international journalism career at the news agencies Bloomberg and Reuters, and has also worked for Acubed, Airbus’ Silicon Valley innovation center, as well as several high-tech companies.
Pilar holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in History from Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada, and a Master of Science in Journalism from Columbia University. She is an FAA certified commercial pilot with flight instructor privileges, as well as an EASA-certificated private pilot.
