Entry Requirements for Abu Dhabi, UAE

A passport valid for at least six months beyond the date of entry is required to enter the UAE. The UAE government does not accept 12-page emergency passports for entry to the UAE. The UAE government accepts only passports with Male or Female sex marker for travel to, in, or through the UAE. Travelers without Male or Female in their passports will be denied boarding or entry.

Please check your country’s visa requirements for visa-on-arrival eligibility or obtaining a pre-arranged visa if needed, and ensure you have an onward or return ticket.

For US citizens:

Personal travel of 30 days or less: A U.S. citizen with a regular (non-emergency) passport with an M or F marker may obtain a no fee visitor visa upon arrival. The UAE government does not accept passports with the “X” marker for travel to, in, or through the UAE. Travelers with these passports will be denied boarding or entry.

For Non-US citizens:

Non-U.S. citizens need to check if their nationality is eligible for a visa-on-arrival or must apply for a visa in advance through an airline or the UAE embassy. Regardless of the method, all travelers need a passport valid for at least six months beyond their arrival date and a confirmed onward or return ticket.

Badge Policy

Official conference name badges must be visible at all times for entrance to the cocktail reception and all conference sessions. Your badge is proof of registration; without it, you will not be allowed to participate in any conference activities. There are no exceptions to this policy. 

Dress Code

Business Casual Dress is recommended. Suits and ties are not required. Since meeting room temperatures may vary, we recommend you bring a sweater or jacket to the sessions.

Note: Millions of international tourists visit Abu Dhabi every year to experience the local culture, and it’s a culture that celebrates modesty. This is why it’s important to cover up your shoulders and legs in places like malls and cultural attractions, like the Sheikh Zayed Mosque, as a sign of respect. However, at leisurely locations like pools or beaches, it’s perfectly fine to wear swimming shorts, bikinis or anything that you’re comfortable in.
