Airbus announced a deal this week at the Singapore Airshow with Taiwan-based Starlux Airlines for five A350Fs that includes an option for five more of the production freighters.

The A350F led production orders in 2023 with fifteen units; to date, Airbus has secured a total of fifty-five orders for the type.

“It’s no secret that we do deliver more passenger aircraft than freighters, and I think the pattern will very much follow that in the future,” Hamilton said at Cargo Facts Symposium in October 2023. “But in terms of actual numbers, it’s about meeting demand and it does go around a level. So, from that point of view, we know the market, we know who’s bought aircraft from us, and then it’s just a matter of putting that into production.”

Hamilton joined Airbus in 1995 and played a role in the first aircraft sale to British Airways which took delivery of its first A320 in 1988. He worked in marketing at the company’s Sydney office before returning to the Airbus headquarters in Toulouse, France, to help develop the A330-200F and A330neo markets.

Cargo Facts Asia will assemble industry leaders and executives to share their insights on the air cargo sector in the Asia-Pacific region while providing attendees a forum to engage with key decision-makers.
