Filipe founded AirVantage Consulting in December 2023, focusing on the airline business, airport operations and infrastructure, strategic planning, change management, and regulatory and government affairs. Some of AirVantage clients are Airlines for America (A4A), Airports Council International Latin America and the Caribbean (ACI-LAC) and Lima Airport Partners (LAP), the Peruvian subsidiary of Fraport Group operating Lima’s airport.

With more than 30 years’ experience in the civil aviation sector, Filipe started his career in 1990 as a trainee at Lufthansa German Airlines in São Paulo, Brazil, where his last position was Sales Director. After heading IATA`s operations in Brazil since 2003, Filipe moved to IATA’s Miami Regional Office in 2013, holding the post of Director of Airport, Passenger, Cargo and Security, for The Americas until 2023.

Amongst his objectives were the promotion of IATA`s Passenger and Cargo Agendas, which includes projects to revolutionize passenger’s travel experience and to implement the e-cargo project. On the airport side, Filipe coordinated initiatives on improving security and facilitation, as well as airport expansions and modernization projects. Lastly, Filipe led the engagements with airports and regulatory bodies regarding developments on new regulations, charges and taxation.

Filipe holds a bachelor’s degree in economics, and concluded his Master’s in Administration at Fundação Getúlio Vargas in São Paulo, Brazil, in 2010.
