João is GRU’s CCO since August 2021, a role where the biggest challenge is to continuously growth the business – passengers, cargo, revenue – in a dynamic and continuously evolving market and industry, with the ultimate goal of making São Paulo International Airport one of the global hubs. Prior to this role, João held several positions at GRU, where he works since 2013. He is a member of the World Airport Slot Board since 2020, having served as its first Chairperson between 2020 and 2022. He is a Civil Engineer graduate at Coimbra University in Portugal, with a PhD in Transport Systems – Airline Business from Coimbra – MIT Portugal.
