Yaacov Berkovitz is the Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Aviation at Israel Aerospace Industries Ltd. In this role, he is responsible for the Aviation’s diverse portfolio across all aspects of the aviation industry, including design, development, manufacture, testing, and certification of business jets and other aircraft, conversion of passenger aircraft to freighter configuration (P2F), comprehensive maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) of commercial and military components, engines and airframes (line and base maintenance), engine leasing, trade and exchange, production of the entire range of metal and composite aerostructures for military and commercial platforms, upgrades of military aircraft and helicopters, and flight testing. Prior to his current role, from November 2021 to December 2024 Berkovitz served as Vice President and General Manager of the Aviation’s Conversions and Upgrades Division, where he oversaw IAI’s P2F programs, international conversion and upgrade sites, airframe MRO services, and military aircraft upgrades and maintenance. Previously, from July 2017 to November 2021, Berkovitz served as the Country Manager for Israel Aerospace Industries in India, overseeing the company’s international marketing activities in the region. Earlier, from January 2012 to July 2017, Berkovitz served has Vice President and General Manager of IAI’s Aircraft Division, overseeing the design, development, manufacture, testing, certification, and support of business jets. A retired Lieutenant Colonel, Yaacov joined IAI in 2019 after two decades in the Israel Air Force serving in various command positions in the Engineering and Maintenance Directorate. Yaacov Berkovitz holds a B.Sc. degree in Aeronautical Engineering and an M.Sc. degree in Quality Assurance from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, as well as an LL.B degree from Ono Academic College’s School of Law.
