As one of the main cargo hubs in South America, Sao Paulo International Airport (GRU) distributes air freight to fifty-two domestic destinations and fifty-four international destinations, exporting and importing the most cargo in Panama, according to its website.

The airport handled more than 191,000 tons of cargo through the third quarter of 2023 and committed up to $20 million in 2022 to increase the capacity of its cargo terminal.

Pita joined GRU as a slot and capacity specialist in 2013 and served in multiple roles before being appointed chief commercial officer in 2021. He is a member of the World Airport Slot Board and became its first chairperson in 2020.

Cargo Facts LATAM will provide attendees a forum to engage with key decision-makers in the air cargo market in Latin American.
