Den Heijer was appointed vice president of Air France-KLM Cargo in 2020 and has more than twenty years of air cargo experience with KLM. He previously served as vice president of pricing and revenue management, managing director at Martinair and as senior vice president of ground services at KLM-Royal Dutch Airlines.
Air France-KLM subsidiary Martinair placed an order for four A350Fs this year to replace KLM’s four 747-400Fs currently in service. The deal added to an order Air France placed for four of the new widebody freighters in 2021.
The Franco-Dutch airline group formed a ten-year partnership with French shipping and logistics company CMA CGM in the second quarter of 2022, which acquired a 9% stake in Air France-KLM as part of the agreement.
Air France-KLM became one of the first operators to increase the use of sustainable aviation fuel to reduce the airline’s carbon emissions footprint.
