Sutter has more than two decades of aviation business strategy and lead cabin design experience, working for major airlines and VIP completion centers worldwide. He designed passenger and VIP cabins for the Airbus A380, A350, A320, Boeing 787 and 777X before becoming CEO of Avensis in 2021.
Avensis is developing Navis, a full-freighter conversion program for the A340-300 and -600 and announced Germany-based USC as its launch customer in the second quarter of 2023.
“We quickly realized there was a niche market of operators that wanted to use the A340 for certain specific missions, and they didn’t have a product for a full-door conversion because all the attention was geared toward the A330,” Sutter told Cargo Facts in August.
Avensis secured its supplemental type certification from EASA in 2022 for Medius, its Class E cargo compartment modification. The A330 reversible modification enables operators to remove components used for passenger operations and install a smoke curtain, environmental control, smoke-detection systems and a supernumerary compartment.
Cargo Facts EMEA 2024 will provide attendees with an overview of the pivotal events that shaped the industry in the past year while analyzing market conditions, trends and developments underway.
