Freighter activity ramps up
767 freighter activity gained traction recently in the EMEA region as Euroavia Airlines, a new Cyprus-based carrier, received its AOC in November and started flying its first 767-300BDSF on lease from CAM, while Ethiopian Airlines is adding two production 767-300Fs on lease from Air Canada.
Georgia-based Camex Airlines also began operating its first 767-300BDSF in November after reaching a lease deal with CAM and Geosky has leased two 767-300BCFs.
Outside of medium widebodies, more 747-400Fs and both Airbus and Boeing next-generation narrowbody freighters entered service with operators throughout the region.
Turkey has seen much activity in its freighter segment over the past year. National carrier Turkish Airlines ordered four 777Fs and MNG Airlines added two A330 freighters to its fleet. BBN Airlines took delivery of its third A321-200P2F and will become the launch operator of the Mammoth Freighters 777-300ERMF. Meanwhile, ULS Airlines Cargo will start flying its first two A330-300P2Fs in 2025.
