World Star Aviation’s Leal joins Cargo Facts Symposium 2024

World Star Aviation Chief Marketing Officer Nuno Leal will join Cargo Facts Symposium 2024 for the panel discussion “Balancing engine and freighter leasing demand” at the Omni Hotel in San Diego on Tuesday, Oct. 15, at 14:30 PDT (GMT -5).

Cargo Facts Symposium, which takes place Oct. 14-16, has been the premiere event for the freighter aircraft industry for three decades. The event gathers industry leaders to share their insights with stakeholders and attendees, provides in-depth analysis of the air cargo sector and enables participants to expand their network with respected executives and decision-makers.

Before joining World Star in 2021, Leal previously served in leadership roles with TAP Air Portugal, including as head of fleet planning and contracts and as fleet manager. In addition to his CMO role at World Star, Leal is a professor at the Higher Institute of Education and Sciences in Lisbon, Portugal.

World Star will become the first lessor to place a next-generation narrowbody freighter with a Ukrainian carrier when cross-border delivery provider Nova Global takes delivery of the 2007-vintage 737-800BDSF (34970, ex-Royal Flight). The Ukrainian cross-border logistics company is expected to add unit 34970 to its wholly-owned subsidiary Supernova Airlines by yearend.

The aircraft is one of the ten conversion orders World Star placed with IAI in 2021.

The lessor diversified its holdings in the narrowbody freighter segment when it acquired its first A321-200 for conversion with EFW in 2022.

World Star continues to actively pursue newer freighter types after adding thirty 737-400 freighters to its portfolio in 2022. It told Cargo Facts earlier this year it is evaluating the E190F conversion program.

The 30th Cargo Facts Symposium will take place Oct. 14-16 at the Omni Hotel in San Diego. Gain valuable insights, success strategies and networking opportunities at this special anniversary event. Learn more and register today to take advantage of our early-bird sale.
