Demenius plans and manages complex projects at SmartLynx, including the launch of the A321 freighter and expansion of the company’s services to air cargo. He previously served as vice president of sales and development for SmartLynx before becoming COO in October.
“The A321F is definitely reliable technology and is also technology which is saving money,” Demenius told Cargo Facts in May at CF LATAM in Panama. “We can simply say that there’s almost a 30% difference in direct operational costs when compared to the 757-200F.”
SmartLynx is the largest operator of A321 freighters and expects its first A330P2F in 2024. The airline recently obtained its tenth A321F with delivery of the 1999-vintage unit 974 from lessor JLPS Ireland in late September and told Cargo Facts it expects to add one or two more of the type by yearend.
The Latvia-based operator’s ten A321 freighters include five EFW -200P2Fs and five 321 Precision Conversions -200PCFs, and are powered by both CFM56 and V2500 engines.
Cargo Facts EMEA 2024 will provide attendees with an overview of the pivotal events that shaped the industry in the past year while analyzing market conditions, trends and new developments.
