Michael Hamelink, acting chief executive of Texel Air and chief financial officer of Chisholm Enterprises, will join Cargo Facts EMEA 2024 for the panel discussion “The latest in narrowbody freighter conversions” on Tuesday, Feb. 6, at 15:15 (GMT +1).

Hamelink was appointed CFO of Chisholm Enterprises, parent company of Texel, in 2021 and became director of Texel Air in 2022. Previously, he was CFO of Bassaka Air, chief executive of Aigle Azur and senior adviser of international investment at HNA Aviation Investment Holdings Group.

Bahrain-based Chisholm Enterprises expanded operations into New Zealand in 2023 with its Texel Air Australasia subsidiary. The group has placed three 737-800BCFs (33013, 29985 and 33798) with the new airline, with the most recent arriving in November on lease from JLPS Ireland. The company expects to add a fourth 737-800BCF (35092, ex-Georgian Airways) onto the AOC this year.

“Texel Air’s focus for 2024 is on executing the 737-800BCF fleet growth in Australasia,” Hamelink told Cargo Facts. “The narrowbody freighter market cooled down during 2023 but demand is still there, and the long-term view has not significantly changed.”

Texel Air’s Bahrain fleet consists of two 737-800BCFs, two 737-700FCs and one 737-300F. The group added its first leased 737-800BCF (33804, ex-Ryanair) from BBAM in the second quarter of 2023.

Cargo Facts EMEA 2024 will provide attendees with an overview of the pivotal events that shaped the industry last year and analysis of market conditions, trends and developments.
